Koen Claessen is a graduate of the International Master in Central and East European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, a joint programme of the University of Glasgow, the University of Tartu, and Ilia State University in Tbilisi. He is a former research intern at the ICDS and has recently completed a traineeship in the Eastern Partnership and Russia Division of the European Parliament, as well as the EU Institute of Security Studies (EUISS) in Paris. His research interests include connectivity and regional security in the South Caucasus, as well as the EU’s climate policy.
