ICDS Chief Executive Dmitri Teperik participated in the public discussion on “Asia – Europe: Tech Driven Global Order”, organised by a Romanian think-tank Global Focus Center during the Film and History Festival in Rasnov, Romania on 25 July 2019.
In his remarks, Dmitri Teperik underlined major threats associated with advanced development of surveillance and disinformation technologies in China and other autocratic regimes. “Such countries like China, Russia, Iran, North Korea do learn from each other how to use oppressive technologies not just against its populations but also how to export them globally to other undemocratic regimes. Their remarkable advancement is largely based on massive espionage, evolving influence techniques and continuous cross-fertilisation of ideas and tools”, noted Teperik.
