On April the 7th a group of students from the US National War College visited ICDS as a part of their field studies practicum in Estonia/Baltic Regional Studies. The subject of the meeting in the ICDS was Energy Security with concrete examples from the Baltic region as well as from Ukraine and Northern Europe overall.
ICDS research fellow Anna Bulakh made an introduction of the ICDS after which the discussion on energy related issues was held. The visitors were interested in energy network and energy market in our region, in basic energy infrastructure as well as in Russian infrastructure projects. Opportunities and risks in the energy security were discussed and also energy situation in Ukraine was addressed along with sustainable options for the future.
