We are hiring! Research Fellow of the Estonian Foreign Policy Institute at the ICDS

We are hiring a research fellow to study foreign and security policy of the European Union and/or European countries that are important from the point of view of Estonia. Estonian Foreign Policy Institute (EFPI) is an autonomous research unit belonging to the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS), which is the leading think-tank in Estonia specialising in foreign policy, security and defence issues. We aim to be the regional knowledge hub of first choice for the security and defence communities of Estonia, its allies and partners.

EFPI’s mission is to contribute to a better and deeper understanding of international relations in Estonian society, paying special attention to Estonia’s role in a changing world. To achieve this goal, EFPI conducts research and provides a forum for competent discussions and analyzes.

EFPI staff are responsible for conducting research that is relevant to foreign policy-making, speaking in international fora, commenting in the media, organizing lectures, seminars and conferences, and participating in international research networks and projects. EFPI works closely with government agencies, universities and research institutes in Estonia and abroad.

Requirements:

– academic higher education, preferably master’s or doctoral degree

– expertise in the field of foreign and security policy of the EU and/or European countries that are important from the point of view of Estonia

– very good analytical skills

– very good skills in self-expression and presentation

– proficiency in English
