Tomas Jermalavicius speaks at the Lithuanian Embassy in London

On 19 January, ICDS Research Fellow Tomas Jermalavičius spoke at the seminar at the Lithuanian Embassy in London, organised by Lithuania‘s Defence Support Foundation.

The event was devoted to discussing the present-day security environment of Lithuania and the role of civil society and think-tanks in strengthening national defence and security with the Lithuanian community in the UK. Its speaker list included Senior Vice President of CEPA Edward Lucas, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University Dr Margarita Šešelgytė, former Director General of Lithuanian State Security Department Gediminas Grina and Director of Defence Support Foundation Colonel (ret.) Vaidotas Malinionis. Tomas spoke about the importance of civic initiative, involvement, voluntarism, education and media‘s responsibility in developing national resilience to hybrid threats.
