At a roundtable meeting of experts today, participants emphasized the great importance of developing the Russian-language media sphere in Estonia.

The roundtable was opened with a speech by analyst Juhan Kivirähk and the director of development of the future Russian language TV channel. Janek Luts. Experts, journalists, newspaper editors and ministry representatives also took part in the discussion.
A junior researcher from the International Centre for Defence and Security, Anna Bulakh, said the roundtable saw lively discussion about whether the Russian media sphere also impacted people living in Estonia and whether an active field of influence could be considered a security threat.
