In memoriam: Emmet Tuohy
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former colleague and friend, Emmet Tuohy.
“Emmet was an exceptionally talented analyst who made a remarkable contribution to the ICDS research on energy and cyber security as well as on Eastern Partnership issues.
He not only had a brilliant mind but also a big heart which he wore on his sleeve every time he spoke out for those bullied or viciously attacked by the Russian regime and its proxies anywhere – from the Baltic shores to the Caucasus mountains.
Estonia and Ukraine, whose languages Emmet has mastered so quickly and flawlessly during his time in both countries, lost a great friend, and the US lost a great diplomat whose warm empathy, unwavering moral compass, and sharp intelligence were such assets to the guild of think-tankers and diplomats alike.” — Tomas Jermalavičius, Head of Studies at the International Centre for Defence and Security
