
ICDS welcomes new Deputy Director and LMC Director
We are excited to welcome Helga Kalm in her new role as the Deputy Director of ICDS and the Head of the Foreign Policy Programme from August 2025. It is also our pleasure to announce that Eda Ahi has joined the ICDS team as the new Director of the Lennart Meri Conference.
Helga Kalm started in the position of the Lennart Meri Conference Director in September 2023. Before joining the Lennart Meri Conference team, she served as the director of the NATO and Security Policy Division at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and worked as a political councillor at the Estonian Embassy in Washington, DC. She has also spent several years with the Estonian Ministry of Defence. Throughout her career, she has always maintained her focus on NATO, transatlantic relations, and Baltic Sea security.
Eda Ahi is the Director of the Lennart Meri Conference as of August 2025. Prior to joining ICDS, she served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, where she focused on a range of topics over the years, including Ukraine and Nordic-Baltic cooperation. She also worked as a political officer at the Delegation of the European Union in Kyiv. In addition, she has published several translations and poetry collections.
