ICDS Tallinn establishes a programme on foreign and domestic policy aspects of Russia and its neighbourhood and offers a scholarship position for young or mid-career professionals interested in policy-oriented research. Tallinn Scholarship starts from September 2021 and successful candidates will be invited to join the ICDS in Tallinn for the period from 3 to 6 months.

ICDS focuses its attention on security challenges facing the Nordic-Baltic region. Considering the recent international events (some new, some deja vu) and their possible impact on security, we have decided to create this new programme. The main goal of the Tallinn Scholarship is to develop cooperation between ICDS and research institutions in CIS countries, Georgia or Ukraine and enhance the current knowledge and theoretical approaches by applying the experience and know-how of the specific scholar. The ICDS knowledge base serves as the broader context for analysing specific topics. The result of the co-operative work will be published.

To apply the different angles and research traditions, the Tallinn Scholarship is open for the researchers from the CIS countries, Ukraine and Georgia. Advanced knowledge of English and Russian is required. The scholarship consists of the monthly honorarium as well as covers costs for travel and accommodation. Precise details will be made available to successful candidates by the end of June 2021.

Interested candidates are required to send their full CV (with photo) and motivation statement (indicating the preferred research area) to the address ([email protected]) by June 14th, 2021 12:00 EET.
