ICDS Director Jüri Luik participated in Visby (Gotland, Sweden) in the Almedalen Week, which is considered as the most important forum in Swedish politics. Together with Mr. Peter Hultqvist (Swedish Defence Minister) and Mr. Wiesław Tarka (Polish Ambassador to Sweden), Mr Luik took part in the panel discussion entitled “Security challenges in the Baltic Region”. The origin of the Almedalen Week was the speeches made by Olof Palme (Swedish Prime Minister) during several summers in Almedalen.
