Digitization and Cyber Security in Estonia: Best Practices

A Polish journal “The Baltic Overview” (Przegląd Bałtycki) published on 27 November 2016 an interview with ICDS Research Fellow Piret Pernik on the digitization, e-governance and cyber security in Estonia.

A Polish journal “The Baltic Overview” (Przegląd Bałtycki) published on 27 November 2016 an interview with ICDS Research Fellow Piret Pernik on the digitization, e-governance and cyber security in Estonia.

The article discusses topics such as cyber security challenges to Estonia, how the country has succeeded in gaining public trust to e-services and digital solutions, and what legislative, policy and technological measures have been implemented since 2007 when the country suffered cyber attacks against public and private websites and critical infrastructure. It highlights the Estonian government’s innovative approach to the use of public and private clouds in securing most critical data among other issues.
