On March 23, 2016 a group of interns from different think tanks from different regions in Ukraine visited ICDS as a part of the Think Tank Development Initiative (TTDI). The main idea was to see how European think tanks work “in vitro”, including ICDS, to hear about the “European standards” of policy analysis from European experts and see samples of products, also to have an image about the conditions of work in European think tanks.
Our research fellow Anna Bulakh gave a brief introduction about the ICDS and its main idea as well as our research directions. Erkki Bahovski presented Diplomaatia and Riina Kaljurand gave an overview on the founding of the ICDS as well as on Lennart Meri Conference. The introduction was followed by the Q&A session where the subjects of energy security and NATO were discussed along with the projects that ICDS has in cooperation with Ukraine. Practical pointers about how to organize the work of a think tank and how to write a good analysis were given.
