The ninth issue of the foreign and security policy monthly journal Diplomaatia, in connection with the upcoming NATO summit, focuses mainly on the topic of security. Ambassador Raul Mälk in his longer overview writes about the changes that were made in the recently completed new Estonian National Security Concept. As Mälk in the position of the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is himself one of the designers of the security policy, his words carry a particular weight when he claims that “Estonia will definitely become a NATO Member who, regardless of various new tasks, will pay great attention to ensuring the credibility of NATO collective defence. /…/ Estonia is working towards the aim to be able to deploy simultaneously 250 men in NATO or other foreign missions.”
