On 28 September, ICDS hosted a seminar with Mr. Raphaёl Glucksmann, entitled ‘The Eastern Neighbourhood and the Near Abroad: Revolutions, Wars and Beyond’.
Raphaёl Glucksmann has been Senior Adviser on Foreign Affairs and European Integration to President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili since 2008. From 2001 to 2002, he was a correspondent in Algeria for various Italian newspapers. In 2002, he co-founded the NGO, Studies Without Borders, aimed at helping students from war-torn societies to study in the West and at developing projects on human rights and civil society in their home countries (including Chechnya, Rwanda, Congo and Sudan). From 2004 to 2007, he made documentaries for the French public television network, including Rwanda: A Genocide without Importance and Orange 2004. He has written two books: May 68 Explained to Nicolas Sarkozy (with André Glucksmann) and Let’s Speak about Freedom (with Mikheil Saakashvili).
