On December 12, 2016 experts of the International Centre for Defence and Security held a public discussion on the topic of national resilience in Ukraine with the students of the Tallinn Technical University (TTÜ) in the framework of the project “Resilient Ukraine: Civil society support for strengthening national resilience and security in Ukraine”.
Dmitri Teperik, chief executive of the ICDS, and Anna Bulakh, ICDS research fellow, introduced the project “Resilient Ukraine”, the background of the project development and its main research goals. During the discussion speakers discussed the current state of the reforms in security and defense sector of Ukraine, the role of civil society and the process of trust building between the government and civil sector. ICDS speakers introduced and discussed the concept of the national resilience. Silva Kiili, ICDS non-resident research fellow, gave a short presentation about women in military organizations, gender policies and the motivation of women to pursue military careers.
The discussion was moderated by Vlad Vernygora, lecturer at the School of Economics and Business Administration, Department of International Relations, Tallinn Technical University.
