Estonia and Finland, two good neighbours so close, but yet different due to past. We were delighted to welcome members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Eduskunta, Parliament of Finland on 11 December 2019 at ICDS in Tallinn.
Topical issues discussed: European defence and security, military capabilities, allies in Estonia, malign foreign influence activities, perceptions of Russia, and current situation and the future of Ukraine.
Resist whatever enemy, have strong allies and build a strong democratic nation are the lessons learned for Estonia, ICDS director Sven Sakkov summed up.
ICDS chief executive Dmitri Teperik underlined the importance of Estonian and Finnish support for social reconciliation in Ukraine and continuing the work. “It’s a hard and long process, but people matter,” Teperik said.
