ICDS Hosts a Lecture on Current Security Environment in East Asia and Japan’s Security Policy

On 18 March ICDS organised a special lecture by Kazuya Sakamoto, Professor at Osaka University, entitled “Current Security Environment in East Asia and Japan’s Security Policy”.

In the quarter-century after the end of the Cold War, Japan’s international environment in Asia has changed considerably.  Professor Sakamoto examined how Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his government are strategically dealing with these changed surroundings, keeping in mind Japan’s geopolitical and historical context as well as its global role. The event was opened by the ICDS Research Fellow Riina Kaljurand. ICDS organized the event in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan.
