ICDS at the Munich Security Conference
From 13–15 February, ICDS Director Dr Kristi Raik will represent us at the Munich Security Conference, where she will speak on two panels.
First, on Saturday, 14 February, from 10:30 to 11:15 at the Dachgarten Lounge, Dr Raik will join a high-level discussion titled “Conversation on NATO’s Article 5 and the Human Costs of War.” This panel will explore often underexamined dimensions of collective defence, including casualty care, force replacement, and the broader societal consequences NATO members would face in a high-intensity conflict with Russia. This discussion is necessary to ensure that NATO’s deterrence posture is matched by realistic planning for the human and societal costs of war. The discussions is open to MSC participants and hosted by Bundeswehr Command and Staff College.
On the same day, from 17:30 to 19:00, she will moderate the MSC roundtable “Everything Everywhere All at Once: Implications of Uncrewed Warfare.” This roundtable will bring together up to 35 high-level participants for a confidential discussion on how uncrewed systems in the air, on land, and at sea are transforming battlefield dynamics, and what opportunities they create both for adversaries and for defence. The session is invitation-only.
