On May 15, Ukrainian civil servants participating in the “Capacity Building for EU Integration” training programme, organised by the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV) together with the Ukrainian Government Office for Coordination on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, paid a visit to the ICDS to meet with Dr Kristi Raik, Deputy Director and Head of Foreign Policy Programme.
With the programme’s goal being the preparation for Ukraine’s accession to the EU and Estonian experience, Dr Raik gave our guests a brief overview of the EU’s foreign policy and its reforms agenda, as well as the ICDS’ own projects with regards to Ukraine. The roundtable continued with an engaging and honest discussion about the prospects, timeframes, conditions, and obstacles to Ukraine’s membership in the EU.
