Ivan Ivanišević

Ivan Ivanišević has served as Acting Director General for EU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro since July 2025. A seasoned diplomat with extensive experience of more than 20 years in multilateral diplomacy, European integration, and international legal affairs, he has held a number of senior positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Montenegro’s diplomatic missions abroad and Ministry of Interior of Montenegro (2013-2016). From 2019 to 2025, he served as Ambassador of Montenegro to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, further strengthening Montenegro’s international partnerships. He holds a Law degree from the University of Montenegro and has completed advanced diplomatic training along with specialized programs on human rights and international relations at several leading international institutions. He is fluent in English, French, and Italian, with working knowledge of Spanish. He has received recognition for his proficiency in French language and culture.
