Cristina Gherasimov

Cristina Gherasimov has served as Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Chief Negotiator with the European Union of the Republic of Moldova since February 2024. Previously, she was Advisor on Foreign Policy and European Integration to the President of the Republic of Moldova and acted as Sherpa for major European and international events, including the European Political Community Summit, the UN General Assembly, and the Moldova Support Platform conferences. Before joining the government, she built a strong academic and professional profile in research institutes, think tanks, and public organisations. Her experience includes teaching at Rutgers University and holding research and programme management roles at Chatham House, Transparency International Defence and Security, and the German Council on Foreign Affairs. She holds a PhD in political science from Rutgers University (USA).
