Butrint Berisha

Dr Butrint Berisha has recently defended his PhD thesis at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies, specialising in international relations, where he has also taught over several semesters. He earned an MSc degree in Political Science at Stockholm University. His doctoral research explores diplomacy by non-state actors, focusing on how domestic civil society organisations engage diplomatically in contexts of contested statehood. His academic work has been published in Party Politics, International Affairs, and Global Society. In addition, he has collaborated with local and international think tanks and organisations, publishing policy research related to foreign policy, EU enlargement in the Western Balkans, regional disputes, and peace processes.
