Susan Glasser

Susan Glasser is a staff writer at The New Yorker, where she writes a weekly column on life in Washington. Glasser has served as the top editor of several Washington publications; she was the founding editor of the award-winning Politico Magazine, serving throughout the 2016 election cycle. She previously served as the editor-in-chief of Foreign Policy.

Glasser is also an acclaimed writer. Her latest book, co-authored with her husband Peter Baker, The Man Who Ran Washington (Penguin Random House, September 2020), was named a Best Book of the Year by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Fortune and Bloomberg. This biography of James A. Baker, the legendary White House chief of staff and Secretary of State, tells the story of the man who ran Washington when Washington ran the world, and who influenced America’s destiny for generations.
