Recent developments in Catalonia and the impact of the general elections that were held in Spain on 10 November, on the future of Catalonia were discussed in a roundtable on 18 November 2019 at ICDS.
The topical issues and challenges were presented by Dr Ignacio Molina, Senior Analyst at the Elcano Royal Institute and Lecturer at the Department of Politics and International Relations at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and Dr Jordi Vaquer Fanés, former director of CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs) and regional director for Europe at the Open Society Foundations, and a co-director of the Open Society Initiative for Europe. The discussion was moderated by Evelyn Kaldoja, Head of Foreign Desk of the Estonian daily Postimees.
The roundtable “Quo vadis Catalonia? A close look at the current situation and a glimpse into Catalonia’s future” was attended by guests from the Diplomatic Corps in Estonia, the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia), as well as representatives from the Estonian Government, academic institutions, the media, think tanks and civic organisations.
