On 7-8 December 2017, Dr. Pauli Järvenpää, Senior Research Fellow at the ICDS, attended a conference on “Europe’s Strategic Choices”, held in Berlin, Germany.
The conference was co-arranged by the Institut für Sicherheitspolitik, Universität Kiel and Chatham House, the Royal Institute of Internal Affairs, London.
Dr. Järvenpää was invited to offer his views in a panel entitled “Old Threats, New Challenges: Changing Security Perceptions in Northern Europe”. The other panelists were Lt Gen Frank Leidenberger, Commander DEU Elements MN Corps and Basic Military Organization, Germany, Francis Kearney, Director Customer Business – Europe, Middle East and Africa, Rolls Royce Defence, and Daniel Keohane, Senior Researcher, Center for Security Studies, ETZ Zurich. The panel was chaired by Patricia Lewis, Research Director, International Security Department, Chatham House.
