Tõnis Idarand was a research fellow at the ICDS in 2020-24, before retiring in September 2024. He has worked at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1993, dealing mainly with political and security policy issues. He has also served at the Estonian Embassies in the Netherlands and Finland. In 2003-06, he was the Estonian Representative to the Political and Security Committee of the EU.
