Moussa Bourekba is researcher and project manager for SAHWA at CIDOB. He is associate professor in International Relations at Blanquerna – Ramon Llul University (Barcelona). He graduated from Sciences Po Grenoble in International Relations, specializing in “Integration and Transformations in the Mediterranean and Middle East”. Prior to joining CIDOB, he was a Junior Research Fellow at the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed, Barcelona). He also worked as a consultant for the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI, Brussels). He currently focuses on SAHWA, an EU-funded project that aims at analysing youth conditions and expectations in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region. His main areas of interest are: International Relations in the Middle East, Authoritarianism in the Arab world, political transformation processes within the MENA region and Islam in the Western countries. He speaks French, English, Spanish and Arabic.
