Julia Vainio is an energy security expert at the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence in Vilnius, Lithuania. She joined the CoE in February 2017 as a Finnish representative. Julia Vainio holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Turku. Her field of interest includes gas and electricity sector developments in the Baltic Sea region, geopolitical implications of energy transformations and emerging threats in the field of energy security. Prior to joining the NATO ENSEC CoE, Julia Vainio worked in academia.
