Christofer Berglund

Non-Resident Research Fellow

Christofer Berglund is Assistant Professor at the Department of Global Political Studies, Malmö University. He earned his PhD in Political Science from Uppsala University, and specializes in ethnic conflicts, competitive authoritarianism, and strategic studies in post-Soviet Eurasia.

His research has been published in Europe-Asia Studies, Dynamics of Asymmetric Conflict, Nations and Nationalism, Nationalities Papers, Demokratizatsiya, as well as in Foreign Policy and in several other outlets. He has earlier worked at the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) in Stockholm and at the Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies (IRES) in Uppsala. He has also been a visiting scholar at the Elliott School of International Affairs in D.C., the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, and at the Institute of International Relations Prague.

As a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the ICDS, Christofer does research on nation-building, societal cohesion and defence issues. /2019
