Atsuko Sekiguchi is Deputy Counsellor in the International Strategy Group, National Center of Incident Readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC), Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Japan, which coordinates cybersecurity policy. Her responsibility is the formation of international collaboration in cyberspace. After graduating with a BA from the University of Tokyo, her career started in 2012 in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), which deals with media and internet policy. With a two-year scholarship awarded by the MIC, in 2018 she earned an LLM at Queen Mary University of London, majoring in digital law. In 2019, she earned an MSc in Media and Communications (Governance) from the London School of Economics (LSE), with a research focus on Internet governance with a multi-stakeholder approach.
