Andrea Bonelli joined ICDS as a Non-Resident Research Fellow in November 2020. He holds a Master’s degree in international studies and geopolitics of European interests from the University of Pisa, Italy. During his Erasmus experience at Tallinn University, where he deepened his studies in geopolitics and hybrid warfare, he collaborated with the Riigikogu [Estonian Parliament] Foresight Centre in Tallinn to study future global energy scenarios. In 2016, he worked at the Italian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, focusing on defence, security and the fight against terrorism in the Mediterranean area. He is also a contributor at Europa Atlantica, an Italian think-thank that focuses on research and analysis of the main strategic interests and geopolitical scenarios in Europe and NATO.
At ICDS, Andrea focuses on the geopolitical and security implications of climate change, energy security and regional security in the Mediterranean area.
